Why You Matter and Why You Deserve to Discover Your “Launch Point”

You are here because you are searching for answers to help you cope with your pain. That pain may be dissatisfaction with your career, conflict with your family, social isolation, fear, worry, lack of interest in the day to day. Or maybe, you aren’t quite sure what it is but you know something isn’t right. You are ready to make a change and you are ready to reach out. I started this practice for people like you. I wanted to create something that helped people like you make meaningful, sustainable change. I also wanted to do this in an environment without layers of red tape, bureaucracy—something that has you at the center of everything we do. Your “launch point” is the moment in time when you make a conscious decision to change and move beyond whatever has been holding you back. This can occur right now.

Importance of Your Fit with a Counselor

Your fit with a counselor might be the most important ingredient to this process. You want to work with someone who is present, has experience treating the issues you are working through, and certainly someone you can connect with and speak to on a person to person level. This is your experience and you are worthy of great counseling. Keep these things in mind as you are considering if we might be a good fit. I’m always happy to help point clients in a direction of best fit.

Questions My Clients Ask:

  • Why do I feel this way?

  • How do I handle these self destructive thoughts and behaviors?

  • Why are my relationships strained?

  • How do I live with purpose?

  • How can I achieve my goals?

  • How do I help my teen?

I Help By:

  • Getting to know you, beyond the problems and issues you present

  • Collaborating with you to develop a path and plan forward

  • Showing you how to evaluate your progress and growth

  • Demonstrating that you are not the problem and that you have the ability to work through, reduce or solve the problem

  • Teaching you to be your best advocate and resource

  • Giving you space and time to look around, reflect and move forward

Why I Do This Work and Why Mental Health is Important

Whether it’s due to situational factors, environmental factors or even biological factors—you deserve an opportunity to work through the stuff that may be holding you back. You are worthy of great counseling. Come meet with me and we will discover your Launch Point!

About Me

I began my education at the University of Tennessee but eventually made my way to Columbus and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and in 2008 with a Master of Arts in Counselor Education.

I am proud to have graduated from the Counselor Education program at Ohio State, a nationally ranked counseling program.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (E.0701092) in the state of Ohio. I am in the process of completing my Supervision designation so that I can support the development of other counselors.

I have 15 years of work experience in community mental health, higher education private practice and military Veteran’s services

Since 2008, I have been practicing counseling utilizing the following theoretical approaches: Person-CenteredCognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Family Systems, and Solution Focused Therapy.

I primarily work with the following populations

Teenagers (and families) who may be depressed, anxious, isolated from peers, having difficulty in school or conflict at home

Young adults who may feel lost, disconnected from their surroundings, questioning their identity, trouble transitioning from high school to college or college to the workforce

Men (and partners) who may have difficulty managing work and family responsibilities, poor communication skills, difficulty expressing emotion and trouble transitioning in life (i.e. retirement, death of a loved one, divorce, new parent, etc.)

What I Do Outside of Launch Point

I really enjoy the counseling experience and the opportunity to manage this practice. I consider it a privilege. With that said, it’s important to recharge and practice self care outside of the office. I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, reading, landscaping, trying new food, exploring Cincinnati, listening to podcasts and sports.
